A few years ago, I packed up my things and made the move to Central Florida. Not for a job. Not for family. Not even for the weather (although, let’s be real—80° in February is hard to beat). I moved here because of the feeling. You know the one: where life slows down just enough for you to notice the colors, the flavors, the fun.
Now that I’ve been here a while, let me take you behind the curtain a little. Let’s skip the brochure stuff and talk about what makes Central Florida actually amazing.
It’s Not Just Theme Parks (Though, Yes, We Do Have the Coolest Ones)
Sure, Disney and Universal are right in our backyard. And yes, I’ve been more than a few times. But what surprises most people is how quickly you can escape the crowds. Drive 20 minutes in any direction and you’ll hit something totally different—like a quiet spring, a quaint café, or a trail where you’ll only run into birds and bikers.
My personal favorite? Wekiva Springs. Cold, clear, and surrounded by trees that make you forget you’re even near a city. Bring a tube and just float. It’s bliss.
Weekends Feel Like Vacation (Even If You’ve Lived Here Forever)
One of my weekend rituals is hitting up the Winter Park Farmers Market. It’s a local secret—not just for the produce, but the people-watching. Grab a coffee, sample a homemade pastry, pet a few dogs, and leave with a bouquet you didn’t plan to buy.
Then there’s Mount Dora, which feels like stepping into a Hallmark movie. Antique shops, old-school diners, and a lake view that turns every sunset into a moment.
Food Here Is Seriously Underrated
Central Florida has become a food lover’s playground. We’ve got mom-and-pop taco joints, Filipino bakeries, Southern soul food trucks, vegan cafes, and sushi that’ll make you question everything.
Can I tell you a secret? There’s this little Caribbean spot hidden in plain sight in Altamonte. I’m not even dropping the name because I don’t want it to blow up. But if we ever meet in person, ask me. I’ll take you there.
There’s a Vibe Here—And It’s Addictive
People here are from everywhere. It’s not uncommon to chat with someone who grew up in Queens, lived in Atlanta, and now owns a paddleboard business in Sanford. That mix of backgrounds brings so much energy, creativity, and kindness to the community.
We’ve got music festivals, outdoor yoga, craft beer crawls, rooftop movie nights, and entire neighborhoods covered in murals. Central Florida doesn’t just entertain you—it welcomes you.
This Place Changed My Life
Moving here gave me more than palm trees and sunshine. It gave me space to breathe. Time to connect. People who feel like chosen family.
I love helping others make the move here too—whether it’s finding that perfect bungalow near Lake Eola or selling a home because you’re chasing your next adventure. Real estate is what I do, but living the Central Florida lifestyle is what I love.
So if you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to wake up and feel like you’re on vacation every day… maybe Central Florida is calling you, too.
And if it is? I’m here. Not just as a broker, but as a neighbor who can tell you which bakery has the best guava pastries and which trail leads to the best hidden picnic spot.
See you around.
